Transjakarta or busway began its operations on 15th January 2004 (opening of the first corridor). On 15th January 2006, new corridors 2 and 3 are opened. On 27th January 2007 from 4 to 7 corridor opened. In March 2008, from 8 to 10 corridor planned to operate but were delayed. February 21, 2009 at 8 corridor finally opens. While 9 and 10 corridors are still experiencing delays. However, planned to be opened in November 2010.
In its old age that has reached six years, there are several problems. There are three major problems, which is still a number of corridors in the absence of the fleet, busway lane sterillization and lack of supporting facilities.
The first problem is a problem that is very vital. Because this is a function of Transjakarta itself. Lack of fleet make not all the passanger could be taken correctly. Obviously the addition of the fleet should be done. But other problems that make circulation of bus arrival must be resolved as well.
The second problem regarding sterilization route. Many drivers are still entering the path of Transjakarta. Though this is very dangerous. because Transjakarta operate at high speeds. If there is a traffic jam or congestion, Transjakarta path is sacrificed. It is ironic if you see this situation. Whereas Transjakarta built on separate tracks to avoid congestion. So which path should be made to Transjakarta only enabled for Transjakarta only.
The third problem related to refueling must be done adding a new SPBBG. Distances from each corridor to make sure the fuel fill a huge waste of time. To avoid the time wasted each corridor is expected to have SPBBG own.
Plan for the year 2010 there will be an additional four new SPBBG, operation plans Corridor 9 (Pinang Ranti-Pluit) and Corridor 10 (Tanjung Priok-Cililitan) with additional busway fleet of as many as 139 units of the fleet, which consists of 114 single bus fleet units and 25 units articulated bus fleet and service implementation in the form of SPM Transjakarta (Minimum Service Standards).
